 Irena Kornatowska Child Advocacy Centre

Institution helping abused children and their families. Its goal is to provide interdisciplinary help for child victims and their families or caregivers. Its main activities encompass psychological, psychiatric, legal help for child victims and their families, supporting professionals who help abused children. 

 

Alina Margolis-Edelman Child And Family Centre

Institution providing help for abused children and their families. Its goal is to help abused children and their families to prevent abuse of young children. Its main activities encompass direct support through psychological, psychiatric, and legal help for child victims of abuse and their families, supporting professionals. The centre undertakes prevention help activities targeted at children and their parents within the “Good Parent-Good Start”.

 Let's Protect Children

 "Let's Protect Children" is a program of prevention of child abuse carried out by the Children Foundation. The program is aimed at nurseries, kindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools, childcare centers, NGOs and other institutions working for children.

 

 


 

Good Parent - Good Start - Prevention of Abuse of Young Children

The programme’s goal is to protect young children (ages 0-3) from abuse by supporting their parents/caregivers in parenting without violence and to promote good parenting. The Main activities of  this programme include direct support for parents with young children and professionals and promotion of interdisciplinary work.

 

 

 

 

Protecting Children In Legal Procedures

The aim of this programme is to enhance the situation of children who participate in legal procedures through the educating professionals and raising their awareness. The programme's main activities include training of judges, prosecutors, police officers, expert witnesses, psychologists and pedagogic counselors on how to prepare children for interviews, as well as training designed to improve their interviewing skills; publishing materials targeted at professionals and child witnesses; certifying Child Friendly Interview Rooms to improve the standard of facilities where children are interviewed.

 

116 111 Helpline for Children And Youth

The goal is to help children and young people in need of support, care, and protection; to improve callers’ safety. The main activities include telephone support for children and young people in difficult situations, education and promotion efforts encouraging young people to seek help and use the helpline’s services.

 

 

 

 

Programme “Child In The Web” 

The aim of the programme is to assess the scale and characteristics of threats to children on the Web; to prevent risks to the youngest Internet users; to help children facing Internet-based threats . The main activities include comprehensive efforts to improve children and young people’s safety on the Internet (research and analyses, education projects, media campaigns, telephone and online help); since 2005 within the European Commission’s Safer Internet programme.

Main activities: Social campaigns, training, and supervisions provided by Polish and foreign experts; publications targeted at professionals, parents, and children
Representatives of organizations participating in the programme expand their knowledge and skills by taking part in conferences and site visits, and also organize such events for other professionals. The programme has been carried out in partnership with NGOs from Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, and Ukraine.  Childhood Without Abuse: Toward a better child protection system in Central and Eastern Europe

The aim of the programme is to improve the child protection system thro­ugh efforts such as raising the competence of profes­sionals responsible for intervention and helping child victims and their families, to raise public awareness. The main activities encompass social campaigns, training, and supervisions provided by Polish and foreign experts; publications targeted at professionals, parents, and children. Representatives of organizations participating in the programme expand their knowledge and skills by taking part in conferences and site visits, and also organize such events for other professionals. The programme has been implemented since 2005 in partnership with NGOs from Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, and Ukraine. Programme against commercial exploitation of children

The goal of the programme is to prevent child trafficking through raising awareness and knowledge among professionals who deal with trafficked children and children at risk of trafficking, and through developing an effective help system and victim identification procedures. The main activities include organizing and providing training for professionals, raising awareness through publications and a dedicated website, assessing the efficiency of the system for protecting child victims and children at risk, lobbying efforts for implementing model solutions and initiating a public debate about the situation of children threatened with commercial exploitation. 

 

 Safe Childhood - small grants programme.

 

 

Safe Childhood” is small grants programme financed by The Velux Foundations. The programme supports NGOs which conduct systematic activities for protecting children and youth against risks defined in each of the grant competitions: prevention of online threats to children and youth, early prevention of abuse of young children (ages 0-3) and protecting children and youth against abuse in the family and in institutions. The programme is scheduled from 2010 to 2012.

 

 

Training programme

 

The aim of this programme is to raise professionals skills and competence in protecting children from abuse, helping abused children, keeping children safe online, preventing abuse of young children, and combating commercial sexual exploitation of children. The main activiteis encompass training and conferences, detailed information are provided in sections describing individual programmes.
